Six films are set for release during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, with only Neelchakra having received its certification well in advance. The remaining films were awaiting clearance, which they all received together—a rare occurrence in Dhallywood.

On Wednesday, the Film Censorship Board certified five Eid releases: Tandob, Insaf, Utsob, Esha Murder: Kormofol, and Togor. Alongside them, four other non-Eid films—Ural, Tomar Amar Prem Kahini, Konya, and Omimangshito—also received certificates, making it a record day with nine films approved.

Producers and directors are always eager to submit their films for certification. However, after the controversy surrounding Shakib Khan’s Borbad during the last Eid-ul-Fitr, which failed to obtain a certificate, many producers became hesitant to disclose their submission status.

Producer Shahriar Shakil had earlier stated they would confirm release plans only after the process was complete. Upon receiving the certificate, he posted the update on Facebook and said they were now focusing on securing theatres.

Togor received an uncut certificate, which lead actress Puja Cherry announced on social media. Esha Murder: Kormofol, starring Azmeri Haque Badhan—who last appeared in Rehana, a Cannes-selected film—marks her return to Bangladeshi cinema after a long break.

Insaf, directed by Sanjay Samaddar and starring Shariful Raj, Tasnia Farin, and Mosharraf Karim, also received an uncut certificate. Farin shared the news with fans, noting the film’s runtime is 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 26 seconds.

As for the non-Eid releases, though certified now, they are scheduled for release after Eid. Ural, directed by Zobaidur Rahman and produced by actor Sharif Siraj, is a friendship-themed film set to release on Friendship Day in August. Siraj expressed gratitude for the uncut certificate and jury appreciation.
