Nadia Farès, best known for her role in The Crimson Rivers, has died at the age of 57. She passed away on 18 April 2026 after suffering a cardiac arrest, her daughters confirmed to AFP.

Farès had been found unconscious in a Paris swimming pool the previous week and remained in a coma until her death. In a statement, her daughters Cylia and Shana Chasman described the loss as both a national and deeply personal tragedy, calling her “a great artist” and, above all, their mother.

Beginning her career in television in 1990, Farès went on to appear in numerous films and series, including War, Marseille, and Luther. She had recently been preparing to direct her first feature film, marking a new chapter in her career.
