The upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr is set to witness a flurry of film releases, with around nine movies slated for theatrical debut. While some production houses have been actively promoting their films for months, others are just ramping up their marketing campaigns. Among the stars driving the buzz are Shakib Khan, Afran Nisho, Siam Ahmed, Mosharraf Karim, Bubly, and Nusrat Faria.
One of the most anticipated films is Junglee, starring Siam Ahmed. Initially planned for release last year, it was postponed due to a crowded lineup. Now, with its Eid release confirmed, the film has reignited excitement. Its motion poster, featuring Siam in a rugged, wild look with blood-stained lips and intense eyes, has captivated audiences. Adding to the hype, the film's first song, Janom Janom, composed by Prince Mahmud and sung by Tahsan and Atia Anisha, has already been released.
Shakib Khan’s Borbod has also been making waves. Though filmed in secrecy last October, the film gained attention after a 20-second teaser featuring Shakib with a bloodied pistol went viral. The official teaser further fueled anticipation, with director Mehedi Hasan promising more surprises in the coming weeks.
Afran Nisho’s Dagi, directed by Shihab Shaheen, marks his second big-screen appearance after Surongo. The film’s unique promotional strategy, including a dramatic announcement video where Nisho steps out of a helicopter, has kept audiences intrigued. However, no teaser or trailer has been released yet.
Adding a touch of horror to Eid releases, Jinn 3 has caught attention, with Sajal and Nusrat Faria in key roles. The first-look poster, released by Jaaz Multimedia, has created buzz, while the film’s production is in its final stages. Sajal, currently unwell, has committed to completing his remaining scenes soon.
Mosharraf Karim’s Chokkor 302 has long been completed, with the first-look poster already out. However, the makers have strategically held back major promotions, planning to intensify their marketing efforts in the last 15 days before Eid.
Other films set for release include Pinik, starring Bubly and Ador Azad. The initial poster, featuring Bubly caged, created intrigue, but promotional activities have been limited so far. Director Zahid Jewel confirmed that teasers and trailers will be released gradually leading up to Eid.
Additionally, Ronge Bhalobasha, Nao, and Bachelor in Trip are also aiming for Eid releases. However, no film has yet secured a release schedule from the Producers and Distributors Association. With the festive season approaching, Bangladeshi cinema is gearing up for an intense box office battle.
