The submission window for the 25th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) will run from 1 June to 30 September 2026, inviting filmmakers from around the world to take part in the landmark edition of the festival.
Scheduled to be held in Dhaka from 9 to 17 January 2027, the festival will revolve around the theme “Better Film, Better Audience and Better Society.” Organized regularly by the Rainbow Film Society, DIFF has long been committed to fostering a vibrant cine culture in Bangladesh while engaging with global cinematic practices and their social relevance since its founding in 1977.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s most prestigious film events, DIFF has played a key role in shaping a more dynamic and thoughtful national film culture. The upcoming edition carries special significance, marking both the Silver Jubilee of the festival and the Golden Jubilee of the Rainbow Film Society, celebrating 50 years of its contribution to cinema.
Over the years, the festival has also served as an important platform for emerging filmmakers from Bangladesh and South Asia, offering opportunities to connect with international trends and encouraging the parallel growth of local cinema within a global context.
